Turner Falls Park with an abandoned castle and the tallest waterfall in Oklahoma (75 feet, and even more impressive and not half frozen)

Safely in Quartz Falls

Howdy! We made it to our Friday night lodgings in Quartz Falls, Oklahoma after spending time in Turner Falls Park, Clear Creek Lake, Medicine Park, and the Wichita National Wildlife Refuge. So we’re here safely, tired, and with a minimum of internet access. I’ll try to get photo and video up because today was unexpectedly wildly pretty. Good night!

Today started at Turner Falls, then we headed west to Clear Creek Lake Park, Medicine Park, Wichita Mountains National Wildlife Refuge, and then a long drive at night over to Quartz Mountain! Videos to come once I have better better access…

I don’t care how real physics works, the reason it is so dark and so grey outside right now is because it’s so cold that the light just can’t get through.

Taylor. Wearing three jackets while loading the car this morning.

Happy birthday, dear friend. We’re celebrating a little before the bigger 190k because I estimate that one will be spent stuck in post-holiday traffic on I-35. You sir, are a badass.

Today included a river ford, the Washita Battlefield in Black Kettle National Grassland, and many many miles of off-road tracks. I think I am made dust than man at this point, but that was a helluva lot of fun.
